Top Tips for Riding an Electric Bicycle

  1. Use the pedals for some of the time – this will save battery power
  2. Make sure the tyres are fully inflated to the correct pressure and that the throttle and brakes work properly.
  3. Have the battery fully-charged: the green indicator light should be on
  4. Always wear a helmet when riding
  5. Although theoretically insurance is not necessary, it is a very good idea, particularly as electric bicycles are have an attraction for thieves as they are portable and there is a market for them.
  6. Use bicycle lanes and specialised bicycle routes wherever possible – it will be both pleasanter and safer, as well as being away from vehicle emissions.
