Review: Change in the Weather: Weather Extremes and the British Climate

by Philip Eden (Author) Continuum International Publishing RRP:£14.99

This is an unusual gift book by Daily Telegraph weather expert Philip Eden. It is a popular science book which will appeal to anyone who wants to find out more about our weather. This is a huge subject but Eden is able to bring his expertise to show how the weather in the UK has changed over the centuries. How rare are freak events, and what should one do to prepare for them? Is it possible to compare the 1976 drought with the 1891 blizzard? Many more topics are investigated, including the topical climate change problem of what would happen if the Gulf Stream ceased to warm our island.
